Extra Work

 The boy in the picture hesitated to read chapter books because he would forget the beginning.  I suggested writing down one thing that happened in each chapter and then he can review it at the end.  It worked!  And he did it...which is the best part!!!

The girl on the far right loves chapter books right now and created booklets for her friends so they could keep track of the characters and their predictions!

I love when students do extra work to become better!

Out of their mouths...

Some of these kids get it.  And by it, I mean what's really important.

In our read-aloud, each chapter tends to share a fable and the class is sharing what they think the moral (or lesson) is from the fable. 

Here's what three of them said...

Evelyn - If you're different, that doesn't make you weird.

Cameron - It's not how you look on the outside, but what's on the inside.

Damien - Always like the way you already are.
