September 19 is National Talk Like a Pirate Day.

What do you do when you have a student who's obsessed with pirates?  Celebrate it!

These two boys had so many pirate clothing items that they shared with others.

Group work

I had to capture the class as they were sharing ideas for a game we were playing.  One group began a huddle and it caught on...

In Charge

I love putting kids in charge of the room.  They take care of moving pictures, organizing the library and drawers, and lately, taking care of checking out books.

I didn't think anything of it when I handed the kids my phone to take and delete photos.

Why would I say no to that?
