Fair is not always equal...

We shared "One time I got hurt..." stories to practice turning and talking in our writing workshop.  My friend (who we will be pen pals with) shared this idea with me.

As each child talked with their partner, I walked around and gave them a bandage on their hand.  Most kids were a little curious and finally started to giggle as each child received the same treatment.

However, not everyone had stories about the same type of injury.

I am hoping that as the year goes on, students will learn that I will not be giving everybody the same "bandage".   Each child needs their "bandage" where it serves them best.
